The beckfast room was spectacular on the 6 floor with beautiful views, and the gym was good for a hotel gym I used it 2 days and I work out every day. The room was very comfortable with everything that should be in a hotel room not like many I could mention, very new looking very clean lots of soap towels and nice ones!, the bed was great I which it was a double, all the hotels keep putting 2 singles together that's my only complaint. This hotel was a great surprise as for the price and value for money was 5 stars. OK, I was here killing time, It was my 1st time to salzburg, I travel extensively staying in many different hotels. Here finally was a chronology of the city, plus the famous 360° painting of the city, which is a must-see-definitely pay the extra Euro for this. I almost missed the fact there is an additional portion of the museum across the breezeway, downstairs. The current exhibit in the basement on toys was not interesting to me at all. The room on archaic musical instruments was the only one that I would call fascinating, though probably of limited interest to anybody who isn't a devotee of classical music. There were some attempts to add modern audio-visual elements, but these were only in German and didn't seem very interesting or informative.

There were some exhibits on historical topics, but they generally were not very compelling, in no particular order, and mixed with other completely different exhibits.

Many city museums paint a colorful portrait of the city through a series of chronologically-arranged rooms and exhibits, but the Salzburg one felt a lot more random. While professionally done, this museum lacks cohesion and flow.
